Horanadu is a quaint little village boasting of pristine nature in and around. The area is covered in thick vegetation and gives it a beautiful setting. The town of Horanadu being agriculture centric, is rich in tea, coffee and spice plantations.
It is most famous for the Goddess Annapoorneeshwari Temple. Sri Kshetra Horanadu is home to the goddess Annapoorneshwari. The prathistapana of the deity was done by his holiness Agasthya Maharishi several centuries ago. However, the main deity of the goddess Annapoorneshwari was put in place in 1973 by Adi Shankaracharya. The divine deity Annapoorneshwari statue in gold fascinates devotees though out the year.
