International Workshop on Combinatorial Matrix Theory and Generalized Inverses of Matrices
02 – 07 January 2012
The main objective of the workshop held during 02 – 07 January 2012 was to provide a solid foundation and motivation, for the younger generation to have exposure to lectures from leading mathematicians in the area of Combinatorial Matrix Theory and Generalized Inverses of Matrices. Apart from tutorial lecture on these topics, organizers provided an exposure to all participants with allied linear algebra topics through special lectures formal and informal discussion hours. An environment for young scholars to interact with leading mathematicians was also created at the venue. Workshop consisted of regular lecture sessions, tutorials and problem solving sessions.
Topics covered in workshop were
- Combinatorial Matrix Theory and Applications
- Generalized Inverses of Matrices and Applications
- Linear Model & Error Analysis
The six day workshop consisted of 10 tutorial lectures (21 Hrs.); 6 special lectures (7:30 Hrs.) and formal as well the informal discussion hours on each day. The afternoon session of Saturday (last day) was spent on taking feedback and valedictory session. Organizers are committed to publish and distribute, among all participants at free of cost, the lecture notes on selected lectures delivered in the workshop. Editors for the volume are Prof. Bapat, Prof. Kirkland, Prof. Prasad, and Prof. Puntanen.
