Research Interests: Perturbation theory for linear operators, Structured perturbation theory for matrices, Nonlinear eigenvalue problems, Multiparameter eigenvalue problems.

Achievements: Currently Prof. Rafikul Alam is working as a professor in the department of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. Professor is very much interested in the field of linear and numerical linear algebra and spectral perturbation theory. He obtained his Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in the year 1996. He was awarded by BOYSCAST fellowship from DST, Gov. of India and a Visiting Fellow, from TIFR Bangalore.
